Blooming Potatoes
My potatoes are blooming. After the blooms are gone, I will be able to fish some new potatoes out of the pot. Once the leaves die off, I will tip the pots over on to my asparagus beds and fish out the potatoes. The leaves, compost, straw, and soil from the potato pots will serve as a rich top dressing for the asparagus beds.

That's exactly what I do with container grown potatoes. I find them difficult to keep adequately watered because they drink so much. Can't wait to see how yours turn out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the hints on growing potatoes in containers! I was inspired by your posts so we are growing potatoes for the first time in a dozen years. Our zone is a couple weeks behind yours, which makes it easy to follow along. I'm excited to see how yours -- and ours-- come out.
